The UC Riverside School of Business has begun using a four-story building needed to handle increased enrollment.
The $87 million structure on the south end of campus next to to Anderson Hall opened in late September, according to a statement on the university’s website.
It includes two 80-seat classrooms, administrative and faculty offices, and a 350-seat auditorium. An open house is scheduled to be held Oct. 18.
“Everything is here for the students,” said Kathleen Drake, assistant dean for marketing and communications, in the statement. “The goal was for them to feel more connected to the school.”
Construction began in April 2023. The new building is designed to allow students to to network, socialize and meet with business leaders.
“The facility gives a vibe of an encouraging, welcoming, and inviting environment to students,” said Sabine Freij, assistant dean of graduate programs, in the statement. “From every corner in the building, in every floor, you see these open collaboration spaces for students and faculty to sit and build on ideas.”
