Morongo tribe donates $6.5 million to hospital

Morongo reservation to get hotel

Construction has begun on a 200-room hotel next to the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa.

The project is a joint venture between Marnell Hospitality, owner of Hampton Inn, and Tharaldson Hospitality, owner of Home 2 Suites, according to a statement.

The four-story Hampton Inn and Home 2 Suites, is expected to open in 2026.

“We’re excited to be partnering with the Morongo Band of Mission Indians as one of the recognized leaders in tribal gaming and hospitality,” said Greg Wells, manager of Marnell Hospitality, in the statement.

“This new location will enhance the amenities already offered by Morongo, while also providing new accommodations for travelers to the region.”

The hotel will include studio suites, guest rooms, a bar and lounge, dining room, fitness center, and two conference rooms. The Morongo Tribal Council and the Morongo Economic Development and Planning Committee brought both hotel developers together, according to the statement.
