CVB Financial Corp. in Ontario, the holding company of Citizens Business Bank, has been ranked second among the large U.S. banks based on deposit franchise.
S&P Global Market Intelligence studied 140 banks and thrifts with more than $10 billion in assets as of December 31, and from that ranked the top 50 deposit businesses, according to a statement on Citizens Business Bank’s website.
S&P Global Market Intelligence provides data and analytics to businesses and investors. It based its findings on several metrics related to deposits.
CVB Financial Corp. was also ranked one of the best performing U.S. public banks with assets greater than $10 billion for 2025, according to the statement.
Deposit franchises are core deposits, like savings and checking accounts, that allow a bank to pay below-market interest rates.
