Jack and Laura Dangermond have been recognized for their conservation efforts.
The couple, who founded Esri in Redlands, recently were awarded the Audubon Medal during a banquet at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.
The award is given out by the National Audubon Society, which was founded more than 100 years ago to protect the nation’s bird population. Past winners include Walt Disney, Robert Redford and former President Jimmy Carter, the report stated.
The Dangermonds founded Esri, which designs and manufactures computer software for maps, in 1969. The company has 350,00 clients and has worked with the Audubon Society, the report stated.
