Paula Pereira has been named Apple Valley’s employee of the quarter.
Pereira, an engineering associate, was recognized for managing several large construction projects, including the construction and widening of Yucca Loma Road and the Yucca Loma Bridge, according to a city statement.
A registered land surveyor, Pereira was also honored for her work on state and federally-funded projects in the High Desert town, and for being Apple Valley’s point person in its dealings with multiple outside agencies.
“Paula is the single point of contact for no less than five government agencies, six utility companies and four contracting companies,” Brett Morgan, senior construction inspector, said in the statement. “She is responsible for the tracking and invoicing of payments to and from many of these entities and ensures that the more than $40 million in public funds for both projects are properly disbursed.”
Pereira, who has worked for Apple Valley since March 2011, was honored at the July 26 Town Council meeting.
