Perris Mayor Daryl Busch recently presented Certificates of Merit and Certificates of Appreciation to police explorers from Post 522.
The young volunteers were honored for their civic pride, support of law enforcement and “outstanding commitment to excellence,” according to a statement.
Busch praised the explorers for their performance at a recent national competition in Las Vegas, during which they participated in a series of police-training scenarios.
In the last year, volunteers from Post 522 have devoted more than 3,000 hours of service to the city, according to the statement.
