Moreno Valley will host the California Competes Tax Credit workshop next month.
The event, a partnership between the city and the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m Dec. 19 at the city council chamber at city hall, 14177 Frederick St., according to a statement.
California Competes Tax Credit is a program that attracts and retains high-end employers in all industries. It’s conducted by the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, better known as GO-Biz.
Currently, the program – which assists businesses of all sizes – has about $100 million in available tax credits. Deadline to apply for those is Jan. 23.
The next round of funding will have close to $70 million.
Tax credits are distributed based on the number of jobs they might create, the importance of the business being assisted to the state or region and its potential for future growth, according to the statement.
