Chino Mayor Dennis Yates will light the city’s Christmas tree Tuesday one last time.
This year’s tree-lighting ceremony, scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Tuesday at city hall, will be preceded by a reception for Yates, according to a statement.
Yates, who is stepping down when his term expires later this month, was first elected to the city council in 1992 and has been mayor since 2004.
Both events are free and are open to the public. The Chino Community Chorus will kick off the ceremony with some holiday classics, followed by a visit from Santa Claus, according to the statement.
