Fontana is accepting applications for the city’s planning and parks and community services commissions.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and live in the city of Fontana, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The five-member planning commission is appointed by the city council. It reviews development applications and proposals and recommends to the council possible changes to development codes and land use policies.
The seven-member parks commission is also appointed by the city council. It oversees Fontana’s facilities and programs designed to promote healthy living and acts as a liaison between multiple city commissions.
One parks commission member is selected to represent senior citizens, according to the statement.
Applications for both commissions are available at the city clerk’s office at city hall, 8353 Sierra Ave., or by visiting fontana.org. Deadline to apply is 6 p.m. Jan. 3.
