Big Al’s, the mega sports bar and grill that includes a bowling lounge, 55-inch television sets, billiards, 36 draft beers and an arcade with 225 video games, has opened in Ontario.
The restaurant opened Thursday at 4120 E. Fourth St. near Citizens Business Bank Arena, according to a company statement.
The opening coincided with the first day of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, one of the better days on the calendar for sports bars.
“We’d always planned on being open for ‘March Madness,’ “ said Craig McKellar, Big Al’s general manager, in a statement. “We can’t think of a bigger and better splash than to open with one of the bigger and better sports events of the year.”
Nearly 175 people work at Big Al’s, which is part of Piemonte Ontario Center, the commercial and residential development that surrounds the arena. Big Al’s is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
