Nearly one dozen city of Redlands employees were honored recently for outstanding service to the community.
Recipients were nominated by their peers, and the winners were chosen by a committee whose members were from agencies other than the one the nominee represented, according to a city release.
Full-time, part-time and volunteer workers were recognized during a ceremony at the Redlands Civic Center for providing services “above and beyond their job descriptions,” according to the release.
Charlene Williams (police), Alan Collett and Jerry Zysek (municipal utilities and engineering) and Dustin Walker (fire) were all named employee of the year in their departments.
Managers of the year were Shayna Walker (police), David Graves (fire) Michael Pool (municipal utilities and engineering). Volunteers of the Year were Carly Carlstrom (City Manager’s office), David Raley and Paul Smith (police).
Twenty-five employees were given pins for five years of service, 19 received 10-year pins and 16 received 15-year pins. Seven employees were recognized for 20 years of service to Redlands and five were recognized for 25 years, according to the release.
