Rodrigo Guerra Jr. has been named to the board of directors of CVB Financial Corp.
Guerra, whose appointment was effective July 1, was also named a director of Ontario-based Citizens Bank, according to a statement.
When he retired last year, Guerra was a partner in the Los Angeles law office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. During his career Guerra represented leading companies, investment banks and institutional investors, including Merrill Lynch, Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and Wells Fargo Securities LLC.
“Rod’s legal expertise and experience representing financial entities in complex transactions will add valuable insight to our board,” said Raymond V. O’Brien III, chairman of CVB Financial, in the statement. “We look forward to applying his vast knowledge of corporate law to help guide our continued growth and expansion in California.”
CVB Financial is the holding company for Citizens Business Bank., It’s the ninth-largest bank holding company based in California, with an estimated $8.6 billion in assets, according to the statement.
