The Ontario International Airport Authority will accept a federal grant of $6.7 million that it will use to help pay to repair the intersection of two taxiways.
The grant, which will be made through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program, will pay for more than 80 percent of the estimated $8.5 million project, according to a statement on the authority’s website.
OIA, which oversees day-to-day operations at the airport, will make up the difference, which is expected to be about $1.7 million. The repairs – repaving taxiways S and W – are expected to start this fall and will not interfere with flights, according to the statement.
