Hesperia lands Aldi store

Aldi, the discount grocery store chain, will open a store in Hesperia next month.

The store, at 13360 Main St., is scheduled to open Sept. 14. It will be Aldi’s first in the city, according to a statement.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 8:25 a.m. that morning, and the first 100 customers in line will receive a golden ticket, each containing Aldi gift card of different value. Attendees may also tour the store, sample Aldi’s exclusive brand products and enter a sweepstakes to win a year’s supply of Aldi’s produce.

Aldi has 1,600 stores in 35 stores in the United States and serves more than 40 million customers every month. By the end of next year, the chain expects to have nearly 2,000 U.S. stores and a customer base of 45 million, according to the statement.
