Aldi, the discount grocery store chain that is making a major push into Southern California, has partnered with Instacart, the nationwide grocery delivery service.
The arrangement, which is scheduled to begin later this month, will allow Aldi patrons to order groceries either online of by smart phone app and have them delivered within one hour, according to a recent statement.
The service will be launched in Los Angeles, Dallas and Atlanta. Company officials declined to say whether Los Angeles means the city itself or the larger metropolitan area, but said the service is expected to expand beyond those three markets.
ALDI operates more than 1,600 U.S. stores in 35 states, serving more than 40 million customers, according to the statement.
