Alexander appointed to school board

Felicia Alexander has been appointed to the San Bernardino City Unified School District Board.

An adjunct professor at Cal State Long Beach, Alexander replaces Gwendolyn Dowdy-Rodgers, who was elected in to the San Bernardino County School Board in November, according to a statement on the city unified website.

A provisional appointment, Alexander was chosen over eight other candidates. She is scheduled to serve on the six-member board until the November 2024 general election.

“I’m here in front of you because I’m passionate about our scholars, I’m passionate about the resources and all that we can provide them because they are our future,” Alexander told the board.

Alexander works in the aeronautics-defense industry and teaches operations management, supply chain management, and reversed logistics modules at Cal State Long Beach State. Her appointment will become effective in 30 days, unless a petition is submitted to the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools calling for a special election, according to the statement.
