Animal shelter to participate in Clear the Shelters

The Corona Animal Shelter will participate later this month in an event to clear animal shelters nationwide.

The NBC4 and Telemundo52 Clear the Shelters event is scheduled to be held Aug. 17, according to a statement.

Last year, the Corona shelter found homes for 22 animals, while nationwide an estimated 100,000 animals were placed in a permanent home as a result of Clear the Shelters.

Cost of an adoption at the Corona Animal Shelter is $20, which includes the cost of spaying and neutering. Licensing and microchipping fees are paid separately.

Photos of the shelter animals can be viewed at www.CoronaCA.gov/Animals. The Corona Animal Shelter is at 1330 Magnolia Ave. and is open 6 days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The shelter can be reached at (951) 736-2309.
