Annual charity walk to be virtual

Stater Bros. Charities and Inland Women Fighting Cancer are scheduled to hold their annual Believe Walk next month.

Only this year,  the 12th annual event – which raises money for various local organizations that fight cancer – will be virtual, according to a statement released by Stater Bros. Charities.

A virtual kick-off is scheduled to be live streamed at 9 a.m. Oct. 4  on Facebook@BelieveWalk and BelieveIE.com

The program will include entertainment, raffle prizes, announcements of contest winners and top fundraising teams and fundraisers.

“The way we gather for the Believe Walk may look and feel different this year but our mission remains the same, to care for cancer patients in our community,” said Nancy Negrette, chairwoman and president of Stater Bros. Charities, in the statement.  “We are committed to raising funds that support programs and services at local cancer-fighting organizations in the Inland Empire.”

The Believe Walk, which is usually held in downtown Riverside, has raised $5.6 million since it began in 2008, according to the statement.
