Carol Jenkins, Apple Valley’s animal services technician, has been named the town’s employee of the quarter.
A five-year employee of the Animal Services Department, Jenkins coordinates the animal shelter’s volunteer programs, which teaches young people how to care for animals, according to a statement on the town’s website.
Jenkins also oversees the shelter’s Pet Pantry Program, which provides pet food to low-income pet owners in Apple Valley.
She was recognized at the June 11 Town Council meeting.
“It is a pleasure to have Ms. Jenkins as part of the Apple Valley Animal Services team,” said Animal Services Director Gina Whiteside in the statement. “Her dedication to providing a ‘better way of life’ for the animals in our community, and serving as a positive role model for our youth, is commendable.”
