Melissa Armit has been named Chino Hills’ employee of the year for 2019.
The city’s community events supervisor, Armit was nominated by her colleagues for her “dedication to the city and her strong work ethic” and for developing ideas that lead to programs, according to a statement on the city’s website.
She is in charge of the Chino Hills Community Center and the McCoy Equestrian & Recreation Center. Her job involves policy and staff development, facility improvement and interacting with guests.
Armit grew up in Chino Hills and graduated from Ruben S. Ayala Senior High School. She began working for the city 19 years ago as a part-time recreation leader, according go the statement.
