The Bank of America Charitable Foundation distributed $227,500 in grants to nonprofit charities in the Inland Empire.
The grants, which are distributed every year immediately before the holidays, are meant to help pay for basic needs like food, shelter and clothing, said Cathy Paredes, vice president of Enterprise Business and Community Engagement at Bank of America.
The money is distributed to each organization based on its need. All of the money goes to low to moderate income families, and it’s estimated that the grants help nearly 580,000 residents of Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
“Bank of America has a history of giving back to the community,” Paredes said.
Inland Empire United Way, Feeding America Riverside and San Bernardino Counties and Cove Communities Senior Association in Palm Desert were among the nonprofits that received grants, according to a statement.
