Business conference scheduled

Businesses from throughout Southern California will gather in Riverside Wednesday for a series of short meetings and seminars led by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The fourth annual SoCal Business Connect Summit, which is scheduled to be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Riverside Convention Center, will focus on foreign trade, manufacturing and procurement, according to statement.

The meetings are described as “speed-dating style” sessions designed to connect businesses with other businesses and government agencies that might be interested in each others services. Representatives from the Small Business Administration will explain how to get federal certifications that can make a business more attractive to a Fortune 500 company.

Ninety buyers representing 50 businesses or governments are scheduled to participate. Among the buyers planning to attend are the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, ESRI, AT&T, Metrolink and March Air Reserve Base, according to the statement.
