More than 790,000 applications have been submitted to California State University schools for the fall 2015 semester.
That’s the most applications ever received by the 23-campus system, and nearly 30,000 more than were received one year ago, according to a statement posted last Thursday on the system’s website.
All of the applications were submitted during the priority application period, which is now completed. This is the sixth consecutive year that the statewide network of campuses has received a record number of applications, according to the statement.
“The fact that CSU is the university of choice year after year among California’s high school graduates and transfers students demonstrates the power of our campuses to provide a transformative education,” Cal State Chancellor Timothy P. White said in the statement. “CSU gives students the tools they need to succeed in an ever-changing workforce.”
Currently, 96 percent of all students in the California State University system are from California, according to the statement.
