Rep. Ken Calvert, R-Corona, met recently with Palm Springs officials to discuss the city’s most urgent projects and federal funding needs.
Attendees included Mayor Grace Garner, Mayor Pro tem Jeffrey Bernstein, Interim City Manager Teresa Gallavan, Deputy City Manager Flinn Fagg and City Engineer Joel Montalvo, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Issues discussed included the Coachella Valley Association of Government’s flood project along Indian Canyon Drive and the expansion of Palm Springs International Airport’s passenger screening facility.
“We had a robust discussion about potential funding for infrastructure projects,” Mayor Garner said in the statement. “The congressman and his staff seemed receptive, but they’ll need time to review the specifics of each project.”
Palm Springs is one of the largest cities in the 41st congressional district, which Calvert represents.
