Car show to raise money for children’s hospital

Alta Vista Credit Union will hold its fourth annual car show Friday.

The event, scheduled to be held from 6-9 p.m. at the credit union’s Redlands office, 1425 W. Lugonia Ave., will benefit the Big Hearts for Little Hearts Guild, a support group of Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital, according to a statement.

Admission is free. The show will include food, a raffle and music provided by disc jockey.  All proceeds from the raffle will go to Big Hearts.

Seventy antique cars will be displayed and judged.

“Local car owners, businesses and residents all come together for an evening of fun and to support a local charity,” said RaAnn Wood, president and chief executive officer of the credit union, said in the statement.

“Our past auto shows have been well attended, [and] based on the feedback that we’ve received thus far, I’m anticipating that this year’s auto show will be another successful event,”

Sponsors of this year’s show are Arrowhead Capital, Real Estate Masters Group and Play Toys Classic Cars.

Anyone interested in showcasing their car may register at http://www.altavistacu.org/CarShow. Deadline is 6 p.m. Thursday.

Arrowhead Credit Union serves an estimated 14,200 members. Anyone who lives or works in Riverside or San Bernardino counties is eligible to join.
