The California Association of Realtors will contribute $600,000 to two charities it sponsors to help victims of the recent Southern California wildfires.
The Los Angeles-based trade association will donate $300,000 to its Disaster Relief Fund and $300,0000 to the National Association of Realtors’ Relief Foundation, according to a statement on the association’s website.
The Disaster Relief Fund is contributing up to $10,000 to association members and their families who suffered losses in the fires. More than $2.7 million has been raised so far, and nearly $2 million has been distributed.
A national nonprofit that provides financial housing assistance after natural disasters, the relief foundation is donating all of the contributions it receives between now and February 7 to people impacted by fires.
“Our hearts and thoughts are with all those impacted by these devastating wildfires,” said a Heather Ozur, association president, in the statement. “This is not just a Los Angeles crisis, it’s a statewide crisis, and these funds enable realtors all around the state to support their Southern Californian colleagues, as well as the broader community.”
