Ontario’s Citizens Business Bank Arena has been ranked the second-most successful entertainment venue in California for 2018 among facilities that seat 10,000 to 15,000 patrons.
Only the Pechanga Arena in San Diego ranked higher last year in tickets sold for concerts and other events, according to data released by Venues Now and Pollstar, both entertainment and concert-industry trade publications.
Last year, its 10th year in business, the 12,000-seat Citizens Business Bank Arena sold 272,977 tickets, enough to gross $16.8 million.
Pechanga Arena, which seats seats 14,000, sold 273,439 tickets and grossed $18.6 million.
FivePoint Amphiteatre in Irvine, Concord Pavilion and Viejas Arena in San Diego completed the top five.
“As they say, number two tries harder, and we will continue to push our calendar to the max” said Michael Krouse, Citizens Business Bank Arena’s president and chief executive officer, in a statement.
Citizens Business Bank Arena was built by, and is owned by, the city of Ontario. It covers 225,000 square feet, has 36 luxury suites is home to three minor league professional sports teams: the Ontario Reign hockey ream, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, the Agua Caliente Clippers basketball ream, affiliate of the Los Angeles Clipper and the Ontario Fury of the Major Arena Soccer League.
