Chino council members accept award

Chino Mayor Eunice Ulloa and Council member Curtis Burton have accepted the Excellence Award in Urban Design from the American Planning Association’s Inland Empire section.

The award, presented May 11 during a banquet at The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture in Riverside, recognized the Chino Downtown Civic Center Master Plan, according to a statement on the city’s website.

That project entered the urban design category and received high marks for community engagement, originality and innovation, and compatibility with the community.

“I would like to thank the American Planning Association for this award,” Ulloa said in the statement. “It reflects the dedication and professionalism of the city staff and consultants that worked on this important project. I would also like to thank the Chino team who delivered the Downtown Civic Center Master Plan.”
