Palm Springs International Airport accommodated more than two million passengers in 2021.
Total passenger count at the airport was 2,092,943, a 67 percent year-over-year increase, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The city-owned airport also set monthly passenger records during the last eight months of the year, attracting 276,527 passenger from June through November.
“Palm Springs International’s route growth has created greater access for locals who were asking for more flight options.” said Harry Barret, the airport’s interim executive director of aviation, in the statement “It is also revealing opportunities for our region. We are astounded by the record passenger numbers we’ve experienced.”
Palm Springs International offers 35 nonstop routes in season and 15 year-round routes, the most routes the airport has ever had.
