Riverside is asking for possible amendments to the city’s code of ethics and conduct.
The city council’s Governmental Affairs Committee will hold its annual meeting to gather recommendations at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 4 in the Art Pick Council Chamber, 3900 Main St., according to a statement on the city’s website.
The committee will ask for contributions from the Board of Ethics and the public.
In 2004, Riverside voters approved an amendment to the city charter requiring an ethics and conduct code. The mayor, city council, and members of boards, commissions, and committees are subject to the code.
Council members will hear three recommendations at an upcoming council meeting.
“This annual meeting is an important outreach of our local government,” said City Clerk Colleen Nicol in the statement. “Citizen engagement in this process improves decision-making.”
