The vaccine clinic at the Palm Springs Convention Center has closed and been replaced with a mobile unit that will serve the Coachella Valley.
The mobile unit will be staffed by people who worked at the convention center clinic.
“The vaccine site at the Palm Springs Convention Center has been such a success and the staff working there has helped protect thousands of Coachella Valley residents,” said Kim Saruwatari, Riverside County’s public health director, in the statement. “The conversion to a mobile team will allow Curative to continue to serve the residents in the area in a more focused and effective way.”
The clinic, a collaboration between Palm Springs and Curative, has performed thousands of vaccinations since it opened in February. In Riverside County, an estimated 2.2 million vaccines have been administered and about 53 percent of the county’s population 12 years old and older have been partially or fully vaccinated, according to the statement.
