Corona looks to help small businesses

Corona is offering beautification grants of up to $20,000 to small downtown businesses.

Businesses with 25 or fewer employees are eligible for the Downtown Commercial Beautification Grant Program, which the city is funding with revenue from the American Rescue Plan Act, according to a statement on the city’s website.

The money may be spent only on materials related to making a business look better and/or safer. To be eligible, a business must have been operating as of Jan. 1, 2022, have all of its permits and licenses up to date and be able show that it experienced financial hardship because of the pandemic.

Applications will be accepted from Feb. 5, through March 4. To apply visit bit.ly/coronabusinessgrants.

The program is being administered by Charitable Ventures, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, according to the statement
