Cal State San Bernardino will pursue a partnership with the India Institute of Technology Madras that will strengthen ties between the two institutions.
Both entities recently signed a memorandum of understanding that outlines several areas of cooperation between the two, including study-abroad programs, partnerships in academic programs, short-term academic and language programs, faculty exchanges, and joint research projects, according to a statement on Cal State San Bernardino’s website.
Specific terms, conditions, and arrangements will be established by members of both institutions.
“This partnership with IIT Madras marks a significant milestone in our commitment to global education,” said Tomás D. Morales, president of Cal State San Bernardino, in the statement. “We look forward to welcoming their students and faculty members to our campus, enriching our academic community, and providing our students with the opportunity to explore the culture and academic excellence of India.”
The partnership will be for five years and will be subject to a five-year renewal if approved by both entities, according to the statement.
