Armando Bolanos, a history major at Cal State San Bernardino Palm Desert, recently attended the World Affairs Councils of America’s national conference in Washington, D.C.
The three-day conferenced included panel discussions on U.S.-China relations, creating a humane and effective immigration system, climate change and women’s rights in Afghanistan, according to a statement on the university’s website.
Bolanos, who won an all-expense paid scholarship to attend the November event, was accompanied by his advisor and professor, Michael Karp.
The scholarship is given to only ten students annually and is available to any undergraduate student in the United States.
“I was thankful to have been selected from a handful of students from across the nation to represent my campus in our nation’s capital,” said Bolaños in the statement.
