San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos has again been fined by the state Fair Political Practices Commission for improper campaign filings.
Ramos paid the commission a $5,000 fine last month for not filing a pre-election campaign statement before the deadline and for not listing by item credit card charges related to his campaign that totaled more than $14,000, according to a report in the San Bernardino County Sun.
The commission announced the fines Monday.
Ramos, who has been San Bernardino County’s top prosecutor for 13 years, blamed the infractions on oversights by his campaign staff but said he took full responsibility for them and paid the fines immediately, the report stated.
In 2011, Ramos paid a $2,500 fine for not itemizing credit card charges related to his 2010 campaign.
