Enterprise zone to hold one more workshop

The San Bernardino Valley Enterprise Zone has scheduled one final complimentary business workshop for 2013.

The session, scheduled for 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Colton City Hall, 650 N. La Cadena Drive, will discuss how businesses can save money on their state taxes by using enterprise zone tax credits, according to a statement.

California’s enterprise zone program is being eliminated at the end of this year and will be replaced by Gov. Brown’s Economic Development Initiative Program, which will offer tax credits to businesses throughout the state.

With only a few weeks left before the enterprise zone program expires, officials with the SBVEZ are encouraging all business in San Bernardino and Colton to find out if they qualify for the program.

Any qualified hires or taxes paid on some equipment purchases made between October 2006 and Dec. 31 of this year may be eligible for enterprise zone credits, according to the statement.
