Bill Cortus, a financial consultant at Thrivent Financial in Ontario, has been named a Thrivent 2018 Divisional Volunteer of the Year.
Cortus worked with more than 40 charitable organizations in 2017, including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and FrontSight Military Outreach, an Ontario-based ministry for veterans and their families, according to a statement.
“It is an honor to be named a Thrivent 2018 Divisional Volunteer of the Year,” Cortus said in the statement. “I feel fortunate to be able to give back to my community, and it’s my goal to help Thrivent members do the same.”
Thrivent Financial will make a donation to FrontSight Military Outreach, at Cortus’ request. He has worked with Thrivent Financial since 2003.
Based in Minneapolis, Thrivent Financial is a not-for-profit Christian group that helps its members “be wise with money and be good stewards of the gifts God has given them,” according to its website.
Thriven Financial has been in business for more than 100 years.
