Fontana Mayor Acquanetta Warren traveled to Washington D.C. earlier this month, where she participated in a panel discussion on workforce development.
The event, sponsored by the National Association Association of Workforce Boards, gave Warren an opportunity to discuss ways to prepare people for the job market, according to a statement.
Warren also attended a meeting with U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, during which participants talked about how business and education can better prepare students for their careers.
“It is an honor to work on behalf of the people of Fontana and share our challenges and workforce needs with our nation’s decision makers,” Warren said in the statement. “Our work is only beginning, but I’m confident that together with our businesses and educators, we will bring results.”
