A former Sears store in Riverside will be used as a drive-up test site for COVID-19.
Starting Tuesday, free tests will be administered at the former department store near Arlington and Streeter avenues, according to a statement on the city’s website.
That site will replace the one at Harvest Christian Fellowship, 6115 Arlington Ave., which shut down after it completed work Saturday.
It began operating April 1.
“We want to thank Harvest Christian for everything they did to support the testing of Riverside County residents,” said Kim Saruwatari, Riverside’s public health director, in the statement. “Thousands of people have been tested there, and that could not have happened without the support of the church leadership and local community.”
Riverside County will have four drive-up sites and four walk-up sites once the Sears testing site is up and running. The county also has eight walk-up sites operated by the state.
All 16 test sites are open to anyone whether or not they’re showing symptoms, according to the statement.
