Teresa Gallavan has been named Palm Springs’ assistant city manager.
Formerly the city manager in Selma in the San Joaquin Valley, Gallavan is scheduled to begin her new job next month, according to a statement on Palm Springs’ website.
“I am thrilled to be bringing Teresa on to join our team,” City Manager Justin Clifton said in a statement. “This is an important position that plays a key role in leading the [city] and working on some of the most important policy issues.”
Gallavan was Selma’s city manager for three years before being terminated in May on a 3-2 vote of the city council, according to reports.
Before that, she served two stints as Lompoc’s interim city manager and was that city’s economic development director and assistant city manager from 2011 through 2018. Gallavan also worked in Riverside County’s economic development agency for 15 years, according to the statement.
Excellent choice.
