Christopher Hadwin has been named Palm Springs’ planning director.
A member of New York City’s department of city planning since 2015, Hadwin was named deputy director of the Staten Island borough in 2017 and director of that borough the following year, according to a statement on Palm Springs’ website.
Before working in New York, Hadwin was an associate negotiator and land use representative with the Ontario Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs in Toronto. He was also planner for the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and for Rocky View County near Calgary.
“Chris Hadwin is a talented executive whose many years of planning experience, working with stakeholders, and tackling community issues in the city of New York and in Canada will be a tremendous asset to Palm Springs,” City Manager Justin Clifton said in the statement.
Hadwin is scheduled to start work Aug. 1.
