TeamStepps Collaborative, which is partially funded by the Inland Empire Health Plan, is designed to prevent medical errors and other surgical mishaps, improve relations between physicians and staff, improve perinatal safety and build better communications, according to the statement.

Study sessions will focus on all areas of hospital work, including surgical suites, the emergency room, critical care, labor and delivery.

They will focus primarily on team leadership, situation monitoring, mutual support and communication, according to the statement.
