Health Net steps up for quake victims

Health Net LLC is providing special help to its members who were hurt by the Ridgecrest earthquakes.

The health care provider is making sure that its members have access to prescription medication, critical medical information and access to other health care services “to help [people] cope with grief, loss, stress or trauma,” according to a statement.

Anyone affected by the earthquake can obtain emergency medication from the drug store where they originally filed their prescription. If the drug store is closed or otherwise can’t be reached…, members may call Health Net at 1 (800) 400-8987 for help.

Health Net made the above announcement in response to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s declaration of a state of emergency in Kern and San Bernardino counties.

Health Net employs 3,000 people and has 85,000 network providers that serve more than three million California residents, according to the statement.
