Celeste Heinonen has been appointed the Ontario International Airport Authority’s chief financial officer.
A Boston native, Heinonen has spent the last 17 years working for the Massachusetts Port Authority, according to a statement on Ontario International’s website.
The port authority operates Boston’s Logan International Airport, Worcester Regional Airport and Hanscom Field, a general aviation airport near Boston. In her most recent position, Heinonen was in charge of more than $1 billion in operating revenues and $500 million in annual expenses.
“Celeste is a successful financial professional whose data analysis [skills] will be key to our airport’s growth as a passenger and cargo gateway,” said Atif Elkadi, the airport authority’s chief executive officer, in the statement.
Heinonen will create Ontario International’s financial plans and put together its annual operating and capital budgets. A start date was not announced.
