Four Inland Empire universities have been ranked among the top universities in the United States for providing four-year degree programs to non-wealthy students.
Cal State San Bernardino (24), UC Riverside (48) University of Redlands (56) and Cal Baptist University (156) were all recognized for “help[ing] non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices,” by Washington Monthly magazine.
Two hundred and fourteen schools were ranked. Brigham Young University, University of Washington-Tacoma, California State University-Los Angeles, Cal State-Maritime Academy and Cal State-Stanislaus made up the top five.
The “Best Bang for the Buck” list is created by isolating the social mobility metrics from the main rankings of four-year institutions.
