Inland hospital rates high for safety

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton has been named one of the safest hospitals in the United States.

The 456-bed teaching hospital operated by San Bernardino County received an “A” in the 2018 Spring Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, according to a statement.

The Leapfrog Group is a non-profit made up of employers and health care experts that uses data, both public and self-reported, to grade U.S. hospitals. The scores are an assessment of patient safety at each institution.

“Congratulations to the Arrowhead team for earning this distinction,” Bill Gilbert, Arrowhead Regional’s director, said in the statement.“[Arrowhead Regional] staff work relentlessly in providing quality health care to our community and it is great to see these efforts recognized.”
