A judge has denied a request by Ontario that would have required Los Angeles to released 399 documents to the city in connection with its lawsuit to gain control of Ontario International Airport.
Riverside County Superior Court Judge Gloria Connor Trask ruled Tuesday that the request is out of her jurisdiction until she receives proper documentation from an appellate court, according to multiple reports.
Attorneys for Ontario maintain that those documents will help the city get control of the airport away from Los Angeles World Airports, the city agency that owns and operates Ontario International.
In December, Trask ordered Los Angeles to release more than 2,000 documents related to the case, a ruling Los Angeles appealed.
Although it has improved a little bit recently, passenger traffic at Ontario has fallen to levels not seen since the mid-1980s, prompting Ontario officials to try to get control of the facility.
Ontario has accused LAWA of neglecting Ontario International during the recession for the sake of Los Angeles International Airport, its other major property.
