Kaiser ups its Riverside profile

California’s number one health care provider has opened a two-story facility in Riverside.

Kaiser Permanente Meridian Medical Office, located at 14305 Meridian Parkway on the east end of the city, began accepting patients last month, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.

The building is within the 1,000-acre master planned Meridian Business Park and is close to Interstate 215 and the 60 Freeway. As of now, 48,000 square feet is occupied by central reception, a laboratory, clinical imaging, administration offices and a daytime pharmacy.

There are also nine departments with 16 physician’s offices, and a 11 more doctor’s offices will eventually be added. The facility, along with some Kaiser offices in nearby Moreno Valley, will serve about 12,000 Kaiser members in the area, according to the report.

In 1989, Kaiser Permanente opened a medical center in Riverside; nineteen years later it opened a hospital in Moreno Valley. The company provides health care to more than 371,000 members in Riverside County, according to the report.
