A longtime developer and philanthropist has been be reappointed president of the Baldy View chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California.
Ali Sahabi will serve a second consecutive term this year as head of the non-profit organization, a non-profit that advocates on behalf of the homebuilding industry, according to a statement.
Sahabi, is president of the Optimum Group in Pasadena, which provides real estate development and construction services to public, private and non-profit entities. The company, which Sahabi founded, has done extensive work in the Inland Empire.
A past winner of the Baldy View Chapter’s Builder of the Year award, Sahabi has also received awards from the American Planning Association, the American Institute of Architects and the Southern California Association of Governments’ Compass Blueprint Award, according to the statement.
Sahabi has also been a driving force behind the Green Valley Initiative, a cooperative project that promotes clean technology in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
“There are many obstacles to addressing the housing shortage in the Inland Empire,” said Randall Lewis, past president of the Baldy View Chapter, in the statement. “Ali will provide strong leadership to the BIA and help pursue the policy reforms needed in our region.”
