Lyft rides are free at OIA

Free Lyft rides are available between Ontario International Airport and four Inland Empire Metrolink stations.

The $396,000 pilot program began this month and is being paid for by the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority, in partnership with Omnitrans, Metrolink and Lyft, according to a statement on the airport’s website.

The program allows for Lyft rides of up to $35 to or from Metrolink stations at Montclair, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario-East.

Fares are charged directly to the county transportation authority by Lyft, which is now the exclusive app-based ride service provider to Ontario International.

The Montclair, Upland and Rancho Cucamonga train stations are on Metrolink’s San Bernardino Line. The Ontario-East Station is part of Metrolink’s Riverside Line.
